In 2017, we were contacted by the Tappancs Animal Protection Foundation after their existing website — built on Drupal 6 CMS — encountered serious technical issues. After resolving the problems, we agreed to develop a brand-new, modern site based on Drupal 8 CMS. The result of that collaboration is now live at tappancs.hu.
Since the website’s content is updated frequently — with new profiles, photos, and descriptions of shelter animals added daily, while adopted pets are removed and the blog is regularly updated — our goal was to make content management as efficient and intuitive as possible for the foundation’s dedicated team of volunteers. We streamlined the backend processes to minimize time and effort for administrators.
We also focused on creating a user-friendly experience for visitors — animal lovers and prospective adopters alike. That’s why we built a highly searchable and filterable interface for browsing available dogs and cats by various criteria, helping families quickly find a pet that matches their lifestyle. Additionally, a community listing section allows private individuals to post pets in need of a new home.
In recognition of its mission and implementation, the Tappancs Tanya website received a Special Mention at the 2017 “Website of the Year” awards.
